about us
Spartan Robotics is the Mountain View High School robotics team that participates in FIRST robotics competitions. We are a student-mentor partnership that gives students the opportunity to work alongside professionals that work in STEM to provide a rich and inspiring experience. We are a year-round program and annually, we build a robot that competes in a designated task. Students on team FRC 971 and FRC 9584 learn to become great engineers, project managers, programmers, and more. From electrical to engineering to software to manufacturing, we have something for all high schoolers interested in STEM.

FIRST® Robotics Competition (FRC) teams design, program, and build a robot starting with a standard kit of parts and common set of rules to play in a themed head-to-head challenge. Teams also build a brand, develop community partnerships for support, and work to promote STEM in their local community.
